Anime Club Leaders Summit

The title says it all. If you’re an officer of a local anime club please attend the summit. Meet other club leader get to know the other otaku in the area. Maybe in figure out away to organize an event for all of us in the area. It’ll be fun.

Ask a [Naruto] Ninja

Yes, the ninjas from Naruto are returning for another year of LOLs. Favorites such as Sasuke, Naruto, Choji, Kakashi Sensei, Iruka Sensei and maybe more! are coming to Otaku Fest to answer YOUR QUESTIONS! What is it you want to know MOST about or from the ninjas of Konoha? Bring your questions, and you might get your answer!

Coskumite, "The Art of Cosplay Combat"

Stage fighting techniques for open-hand and mock weapons.  Spice up your cosplay skits with action that's fun, safe and easy to learn.  Workshops are headed by Chuck Jeffreys, professional stuntman and fight choreographer.  

Creating Characters
Are you an aspiring writer, manga-ka, story-teller of any kind? Do you love to create characters and bring them to life? This is the panel for YOU! If you have your own beloved characters, bring your concept art, their profiles, and your own personal expertise on the subject! Whatever you've got, be ready to share!

Improve Anime Re-dub

See old school anime or other awesome shows have their audio turned off and then dubbed on the spot by some local otaku. There will be laughs. And there will be random references.

Lolita: Walk, Walk, Fashion Baby

Come see lolitas strut their stuff down the runway to some banging J-pop. This panel will give you ideas for your lolitas outfits, places to buy, different styles and details to a future lolita meet-up in the area.

Otaku Fest Riff Theater

In the Otaku Fest Riff Theater nothing is held sacred. Not even the classic anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Join in on the freestyle comedy commentary of the first four episodes. Just be sure that your sarcasm skills are up to par.

Special Makeup Effects

This panel discusses skills perfected in Hollywood that can be used to enhance your costuming.  We demonstrate products and techniques to safely apply "cosplay-proof" bodypaint, tattoos, wounds, and scars.  We'll also answer any questions on any effects imaginable.

Writing Original Fiction

Tips and writing advice from author Elizabeth Staley. Get advice on world building, character building, and how to get from draft to finished short story or novel.
